Docs North is looking for more applicants for its free five-day filmmaking workshop.
The five-day fully sponsored workshop provides hands on training to northern Ontario film and media makers from isolated northern communities. Its goal is to provide skills to produce drama, documentary and interactive media projects.
The workshop takes place Oct. 2-6 running concurrently with the Bay Street Film Festival in Thunder Bay.
Film, television and digital media experts from across Canada and Nunavut will conduct the training. The workshops will be about interactive story telling, the job of a producer and director, camera and lighting, sound work, and editing.
Transportation, meals and six-nights accommodation will be provided for eight to 10 aspiring filmmakers. An additional 15 spaces is available people living in or near Thunder Bay.
The workshop is sponsored by Flash Frame, a film and video company based out of Thunder Bay, and Bay Street Film Festival, in partnership with Keewaytinook Okimakanak.
