Camp Loon 2010

Zip lining, canoeing, off-road biking, ATV safety training and tug-of-war were all part of this year’s Camp Loon, which was attended by about 141 Junior Canadian Rangers from 15 communities across Nishnawbe Aski Nation.

Couchiching First Nation tollbooth on Hwy 11

Couchiching First Nation put up a tollbooth on Highway 11 May 21. The fee for crossing the highway through Couchiching is $1 each way. The First Nation is looking for compensation for contaminated soil in the community, which is forcing band members to relocate their housing.
