Earlier in the softball season a brief rain created extremely humid playing conditions. Although the weather wasn't optimal, the Cubs defeated the opposing team by 'mercy rule'.

Massive amethyst are on display at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. Seeing the large purple stones reminded me of the large amethyst mines here in Thunder Bay.

Although the weather was cool and rainy most of the August long weekend, people still got out on the Northern Ontario lakes to enjoy the fresh air and roasted hot dogs.
