Meno Ya Win lifts visitor restrictions

November 19, 2009

Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre has lifted all influenza precautions Nov. 19.

However, the hospital continues to advise the public to not visit patients if they have flu-like symptoms or respiratory illnesses. Hospital staff continue to wear gowns, gloves and masks when treating patients with the flu.

Meno Ya Win started placing viistor restrictions on the hospital Oct. 27 with the arrival of the flu season and the rapid rise of H1N1 cases in Sioux Lookout. In recent days, the number of cases of H1N1 has dropped allowing the hospital to lift its precautions.

The outbreak management team continues to re-assess flu activity.
